I installed the Refactoring Essentials for Visual Studio while looking for a specific refactoring. After playing with it for a little while, I noticed that it had wired it's analyzers in without an easy option to disable them.
The developers of the extension want you to mess with rulesets to disable them. Eww.
Here's a different way to disable them:
Find the folder where the extension is installed. It'll be somewhere inside
extension.vsixmanifestfile in a real text editor.
Remove or comment out this line:
<Asset Type="Microsoft.VisualStudio.Analyzer" Path="RefactoringEssentials.dll" />
Restart Visual Studio
I should note that I didn't keep this extension installed as the refactorings themselves never worked(even before making this change).
